Federal Conservative Party Issues
1. Fundraiser: There is a fund-raising dinner on September 25th in Truro with Senator Mike Duffy as the key-note speaker. Whenever Mike Duffy is featured at one of these events, it is a sell-out crowd. Anyone wishing to attend, call Frank Elliott (667-7801) or (664-4142) for tickets.
2. Scott Armstrong: Held a meeting in Amherst on Wednesday evening August 5th. Our Past-President Susan Macdonald now holds the position of President of the federal constituency organization for Cumberland-Colchester Musquodoboit Valley. She helped to host the meeting along with Co-Campaign Chairs Frank Elliott and Jeff Hunt.
If there is no general federal election this fall, there has to be a by-election and it needs to be called by October.
Scott Armstrong was nominated by acclamation earlier this year. He is a long-time and loyal and very hardworking Bill Casey supporter. We should all be quite happy that he will be the candidate for this federal riding. He has the smarts and the personality to be an excellent Member of Parliament. We have invited him to come to our Constituency Council meeting, so more people get a chance to meet him.
