Bacon-Elliot Bursary Application

donated by the Cumberland North PC Scholarship Society

These bursaries are established to honour the late Glynn R. Elliot, and the Honorable Roger S. Bacon, two men who have served the Progressive Conservative Party and the people of the former Constituency of Cumberland East with unswerving loyalty and unselfish dedication. Together they represent admirable examples of service to a political party, so essential to the democratic process in a free country, and of public service for the betterment of all aspects of our society.

The Bacon-Elliot Bursary of $1000.00 shall be awarded annually to residents of the constituency who are Grade 12 graduates of Amherst Regional, Pugwash District and River Hebert District High Schools, who have shown in his or her high school years above average academic achievement, a keen interest in social and political affairs, leadership qualities and an active concern for others. Financial need will also be a significant consideration.

The successful applicant will be chosen from among those students who have been interviewed.
